Basava International remembers the Martyrs on 70th Independence Day

KLE Society celebrates its centenary

The 70th Independence Day was celebrated at Basava International School with traditional gaiety and fervor. The whole school was beautifully bedecked with tricolour flags, balloons and flowers. The students adorned their faces and dresses with tricolour to mark the occasion. The function commenced with the N.C.C parade by the air wing of girls and the army wing of boys. An introductory note on the significance of the Independence Day was read out. The school children presented a mélange of patriotic activities ranging from patriotic songs to dances which created an atmosphere of national pride. Dressed up in saffron, white and green colours, holding the tiranga in their hands, filled with patriotism and love for the country they sang a medley of various patriotic songs. There was a beautiful rendition of a patriotic poem by Swami Yogananda Paramhansa on the freedom-struggle depicting how India got freedom from the clutches of mighty Britishers. To culminate the program the Pledge was delivered by the Headboy and Headgirl to strive to protect India from all hardships and make it a better place to live.

In her address, the Principal Dr. Manimala Roy congratulated all on the eve of Independence Day. She emphasized the need to serve all with love, peace and unity which would help building a better country and the better world. She urged them to practice what was preached to ensure the bright future of the country. General Manager Ms Poornima Ambli congratulated N.C.C , students and teachers on the occasion and reminded them of the struggle and told that we were fortunate to have been born in free India . She asked the students to take note of what we have and reminded them about their duties .National anthem was sung with full gusto at the end.
