KLE Society celebrates its centenary

A team of 20 students and 4 teachers of KLE Society’s Basava International School, Delhi, along with their Principal and GM attended the week long KLE Centenary celebration programme at Belgavi, Karnataka. The students prepared a dance drama "Chitrangada - the Warrior Princess " based on Tagore's famous work Chitrangada. It was presented before a 10000 odd audience on the Centenary stage on 14 November. The play, a fusion of classical and contemporary Indian and Western dance forms and thought provoking dialogues, mesmerized the audience. It was Basava students' promise to promote gender equality which the Indian society has not yet achieved. It was also a presentation of their team spirit and hard work. On 15 November Arkita Baruah and Sejal Chaturvedi received the prestigious Foundation Day Gold for their achievements. Arkita for winning Inspire Award and Sejal, an NCC cadet, for being selected for the Prime Minister's Rally, 2016. The Principal, Dr. Manimala Roy, was felicitated in acknowledgement of her contributions to the progress of KLES' Basava International School, Delhi. While inaugurating the celebration on the opening day on the 13 November as the Chief Guest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the awe inspiring contribution of the KLE Society in the fields of education and health services. While appreciating the amazing leadership of Chairman Dr. Prabhakar Kore he pointed out the continuum in which generations of KLE teachers have been working for 100 years to promote quality education.
